Close To My Heart Spring/Summer Idea Book
Expressing our Faith through crafting, scrapbooking, paper-crafting, etc can be so inspiring to others. But often, we stumble on how to get started. I have a possible solution and believe it all can be made easy with products from Close To My Heart. My husband & I recently signed-up to sell the products and I have to admit......the papers and embellishments are amazing and I am already planning out a Faith-Book album using CTMH products! Check out the new catalog full of great ideas at catscrapfever.ctmh.com and if you want to see the products in person or learn how you could earn products for FREE, contact me :)

NEW YEAR, NEW BIBLE STUDY....NEW YOU!!
Every year I think I make the same
New Year's Resolution....eat better, lose weight, read the bible more, pray
more..........any of this sound familiar? I realize that it takes a lot of
self-motivation to do any of those things but I also know how much easier it is
when you have support of a small group! I "accidentally"
happened upon The Daniel Plan when I was doing some research online on Daniel
and fasting. I felt it would be a beneficial 6 week bible study....please
continue reading about it and be prepared to share your thoughts on Sunday when
we finish up The Christmas Experience.
The
six-session video-based, small group study from Rick Warren, Dr. Daniel Amen,
and Dr. Mark Hyman is centered on five essentials that will launch your journey
to health: faith, food, fitness, focus, and friends.
With
support from medical and fitness experts, Pastor Rick Warren and thousands of
people from his congregation started on a journey to transform their own lives.
It's called The Daniel Plan and it works for one simple reason: God
designed your body to be healthy and He provided everything you need to thrive
and live an abundant life.
This small
group study is a vital component of The Daniel Plan because it
emphasizes the powerful community component of the program. As Dr. Mark Hyman
says, "Community is the cure" for healthy living.
The Daniel Plan small group study teaches simple ways
to incorporate healthy choices into your daily lifestyle. This study guide
includes biblical inspiration from Pastor Rick, instruction from our doctors
and wellness experts, practical food and fitness tips, and much more.
Sessions
include:
· Faith: Nurturing Your Soul
· Food: Enjoying God's Abundance
· Fitness: Strengthening Your Body
· Focus: Renewing Your Mind
· Friends: Encouraging Each Other
· Living the Lifestyle
I look forward to discussing this
more on Sunday! I will provide the bulk of the material you will need for the 6 week study, but if you want to order the book, it is currently
on sale for $13.99 on the website http://store.danielplan.com/the-daniel-plan-book
Blessings!

Do You Trust God in Your Times of Trouble?
Looking back over the past two weeks of study, the message
of Faith and Trust has been a recurrent theme.
I can’t even begin to imagine how Mary and Joseph must have felt…..lonely,
abandoned, scared, happy, excited……they knew they were part of something much
bigger than anyone else understood. They
had faith and they trusted God.
I know from personal experience that life can sometimes feel
so heavy, stressful, and scary. Let’s
face it, even as Christians; there are days when we all face the future with
great fears rather than great faith. Psalm
50:15 states “Trust me in your times of trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will
give me the glory.”
According to scripture, we are not instructed to “work
harder in times of trouble” or “go to counseling in times of trouble” or “feel
sorry for ourselves in times of trouble” or “post of Facebook in times of
trouble” or a thousand other things that we, as humans, tend to do when life
gets stressful. Please understand, none
of the before mentioned things are necessarily wrong and some can actually
help, but none of them are the primary places to which we should turn in our
times of trouble.
When Mary and Joseph embarked on their journey as parents to
Jesus, I am sure they thought things would be easier. After all, they were chosen by God! But as we have learned……nothing was easy for
them, if anything, life was very difficult at times.
We can learn from their example. When Mary was visited by the angel foretelling
of her immaculate conception, she simply stated “I am a servant of the Lord”, “Let
what you say be true to me” (Luke 1:38). And when Joseph learned of
Mary’s pregnancy, he too had a difficult decision to make, leave or stay with
her and raise the child. After being
visited by the angel, Joseph listened to and obeyed God and “did what the angel of the Lord had
commanded and took Mary home as his wife” (Matthew 2:24); despite what it
would mean to his reputation.
And when Mary was in her last weeks of pregnancy, the decree
for every person to take part in the census, led Mary and Joseph on a 70 mile
journey from their home to Bethlehem. When
it was time for Jesus to be born, the only place they could find was a
stable. How horrified and scared they
must have been…..but they did not waiver on their faith. Mary and Joseph trusted God in their times of trouble
and gave him praise.
I feel the messages we have been given the past couple of
weeks are directly speaking to me. I
have grown spiritually and I see more clearly what I need to do in order to draw
closer to, and deepen my faith and trust in God.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday night as we study week 5
of the Christmas Experience.
Blessings!

The 12 Days of Christmas Faithbooking Challenge #9
We've all heard this song growing
up, but did you know each verse of the song also had a Biblical meaning? Over
the next few weeks, we will be exploring the Biblical meanings of each verse of
the song. You can do your craft of
choice, journal, scrapbook..….whatever you want to show what the verse and
meaning means to you. Each week I will
post the traditional verse, and its Biblical meaning. Once all 12 verses have
been presented, you should have a beautiful reminder that you can share with
your family and friends as to what the Biblical meanings are for "The 12
Days of Christmas"! (As a reminder, I found this information online at www.faith-sisters.blogspot.com and immediately knew it was the perfect accompaniment to
the 6 week Christmas Experience study).
Although participation in the 12
Days of Christmas Faithbooking Challenge isn’t necessary to be included the
Expressions of Faith small group, I hope you will incorporate it somehow
(crafting, journaling, scrapbooking, etc).
In a sense, it will become your testimonial of faith that will be a
keepsake you will enjoy reflecting on often and sharing with others.
On the ninth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

9th Day: The
"nine ladies dancing" were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit found
in Galatians 5:22-23:
- Love
- Joy
- Peace
- Patience
- Kindness
- Goodness
- Faithfulness
- Gentleness
- Self-control.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I am STILL behind on my
creations. I am still patiently awaiting
to get my package of paper and stickers by Graphic 45 themed “The 12 Days of
Christmas”….if you are interested in buying or viewing this collection, here is

On the eighth day of Christmas,
my true Love sent to me:

8th Day: The "eight maids a milking " reminded
children of the eight beatitudes listed in the Sermon on the Mount. (as told in
the book of Matthew)
- Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land.
- Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted.
- Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill
- Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy
- Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.
- Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
- Blessed are they that suffer persecution for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven
